NEW DELHI: The cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered to healthcare and frontline staff within the nation has reached practically 98.5 lakh, the Union well being ministry stated on Thursday.
A complete 98,46,523 vaccine doses got by way of 2,10,809 classes, as per the provisional report until Thursday 6pm. This contains 62,34,635 healthcare staff (HCWs) who’ve taken the primary dose and 4,64,932 HCWs who’ve taken the second dose, together with 31,46,956 frontline staff (FLWs) who had been administered the primary dose.
Whereas the countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16, vaccination of the frontline staff began from February 2. Whole 3,17,190 vaccine doses got until 6 pm on Thursday, the thirty fourth day of the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive, the ministry stated.
Out of which, 2,21,425 beneficiaries had been vaccinated for the primary dose and 95,765 healthcare staff obtained the second dose of vaccine as per the provisional report, it stated remaining studies could be accomplished for the day by late tonight. AGENCIES
Report: First dose of vaccine given to over 75% of healthcare staff
A complete of 10,159 classes had been held until 6pm on Thursday. All states and union territories carried out the Covid vaccination drive on Thursday.
A complete of 11 states and UTs have vaccinated over 75% of the registered healthcare staff for the primary dose. These are Bihar, Tripura, Odisha, Lakshadweep, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh.
However, seven states and UTs have reported lower than 50% protection of the registered healthcare staff for the primary dose. These are Ladakh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Nagaland and Puducherry. A complete of 15 states have registered greater than 40 per cent protection for the primary dose amongst frontline staff.
These are Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Lakshadweep, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
