CANCÚN: Hurricane Delta made landfall Wednesday on Mexico’s Caribbean coast packing as much as 110 mph (175 kph) winds, US forecasters mentioned.
A weakened Delta hit the Yucatan Peninsula close to the town of Puerto Morelos as a class two storm, the Nationwide Hurricane Middle.
Hundreds of vacationers had hunkered down in shelters on the coast because the storm approached with a doubtlessly life-threatening storm surge.
