A Class 10 pupil in Hyderabad, stopped from attending lessons for not paying her faculty charges, died by suicide on Thursday, the police say.
The woman, the daughter of each day wage labourers, was discovered hanging at her home yesterday. She had refused to go to high school, her mother and father stated.
The mother and father stated that they had paid part of the Rs 37,000 they owed as charges, and that that they had advised the varsity they might pay the remainder later this month.
“Regardless of shedding our earnings as a result of lockdown, we had managed to pay round Rs 15,000 to the varsity. We advised them we might pay by twentieth,” stated woman’s father.
He claimed that the varsity administration had pressured his daughter, humiliated her and compelled her to name him repeatedly to ask for the cash.
“They made my daughter name me up 2-3 occasions in the previous couple of days. My daughter did not need to go to high school yesterday. She advised me to inform the trainer she had gone to hospital as she didn’t need to face them. The academics had been making her name me and put strain to pay,” he stated.
The woman was reportedly denied entry by the varsity authorities, who allegedly advised her she couldn’t attend lessons till the whole price was paid.
“College charges has claimed my youngster. We had stated we might pay by the twentieth. I do not know what sort of humiliation my youngster was subjected to, she killed herself,” cried her mom.
