CHENNAI: DMK president M Ok Stalin on Monday denounced the arrest of local weather activist Disha Ravi by Delhi police on “flimsy charges“, saying silencing critics by “authoritarian” means will not be rule of legislation.
“Shocked by the police arrest of Disha Ravi on flimsy fees. Silencing critics of the government by authoritarian means will not be the rule of legislation,” the highest DMK chief tweeted.

“I urge the BJP authorities to desist from taking such punitive motion and as an alternative take heed to the voices of dissent from younger individuals,” he stated.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal dubbed her arrest an ‘unprecedented assault on democracy.’
On February 13, Disha Ravi was arrested from Bengaluru by Delhi police, which comes underneath the Union Home Ministry‘s ambit for ‘collaborating’ with pro-Khalistani Poetic Justice Basis to ‘unfold disaffection’ towards the federal government.
She edited ‘toolkit Google doc’ and was a key ‘conspirator’ in its formulation and dissemination as nicely vis-a-vis the farmers protest, in keeping with police.
