Covid threat: MHA denies SGPC nod for Pak go to | India Information – Instances of India

NEW DELHI: The ministry of home affairs (MHA) has declined permission to Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) to ship a 600-member ‘jatha’ or group to Pakistan for attending the one centesimal anniversary of ‘Saka Nankana Sahib’, citing safety risk and continued Covid-19 threat.
The ‘jatha’ was proposed to journey to Pakistan between February 18 and 25.
“It’s pertinent to notice that Pakistan has to date recorded over half 1,000,000 circumstances with over 10,000-plus deaths, attributable to Covid. Contemplating the capability of well being infrastructure in Pakistan, it isn’t advisable for our residents to go to Pakistan for per week through the pandemic,” the MHA said in a letter addressed to SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur Begowal on Wednesday and marked to Punjab further chief secretary (dwelling) and DGP.
