NEW DELHI: The Railways knowledgeable Parliament on Friday that 336 railway workers died as a consequence of Covid-19 and 14,714 of its workers have been contaminated by the coronavirus.
In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, railway minister Piyush Goyal stated the utmost of 67 Covid fatalities have been reported from the Central Railway zone, which largely covers Maharashtra and components of Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. The second highest variety of such deaths have been registered within the South Central Railway which predominantly serves Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra and components of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh.
The Northern Railway zone reported 50 fatalities as a consequence of Covid and a most of two,202 coronavirus infections. North Zone covers Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, J&Ok, Uttarakhand and Chandigarh. Among the many manufacturing models and rail coach factories, a most of 9 Covid deaths have been reported from Built-in Coach Manufacturing facility at Chennai.
