11 Useless, 36 Injured In Explosion At Fireplace Cracker Manufacturing unit In Tamil Nadu

At the least eleven folks have died and 36 injured after an explosion at a non-public firecracker manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar, round 500 kilometres from Chennai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the blast.

“Fireplace at a firecracker manufacturing facility in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu is saddening. On this hour of grief, my ideas are with the bereaved households. I hope these injured get well quickly. Authorities are engaged on the bottom to help these affected,” he tweeted.

The explosion happened at round 1.30 pm immediately whereas some chemical compounds have been being blended to provide firecrackers, police stated.

Ten fire-fighting items from numerous areas have been rushed to the spot to douse the hearth within the manufacturing facility, information company PTI reported.

Chief Minister E Palaniswami has introduced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the households of those that died within the blast and Rs 1 lakh to the severely injured.


The Centre has introduced Rs 2 lakh for the households of the victims and Rs 50,000 for these injured.

“An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh every has been permitted from PMNRF for the subsequent of kin of those that have misplaced their lives resulting from a fireplace in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. Rs. 50,000 can be given to these severely injured,” a tweet from the PMO account learn.
